“Life is a tapestry woven together by humanity. Within this framework each of us is a thread with a common goal to ensure that we preserve our environment.”
                                                                                                   Fall 2011

I have been a textile designer since 1986. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst with a degree in fine art and textile design. With a background in screen-printing processes as well as hand-painted textiles, I have taught Studio Art in textile design at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, the Seattle Art Museum, Washington, and the Cape Museum of Fine Arts, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. My exhibits include a Handmade Books Arts/Fiber show; a Conceptual Footwear exhibit on Cape Cod; several Painted Ponies exhibits at 5th St. Gallery and City Cellars as well as the annual Secret ArtWorks event, Cincinnati, OH; Europa Café and the  Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY and Momo's Food Emporium, East Sandwich, MA.

Naomi's work is now available at Woodruff's Art Center, Mashpee Commons, Cape Cod, MA!

"Foaling in Love" Acrylic on Paper NE Bradford

I moved away from the intensive textile world of handpainted and handprinted silk yardage for the apparel business, towards designing and producing one-of-a-kind tapestry handbags. Now I have come full circle ... focusing again on my painting ... Painted Ponies.

I layer color upon color, using the image of the horse as it is my belief that we are part horse/part human ... a strong connection between life and spirit ... a universal theme of liveliness, strength, beauty, and loyalty.
