Doug Amidon is a professional woodcarver based in Sandwich using skills honed over a period of over forty-three years. Born in Worcester and raised in Orange, Doug has a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University and a Masters of Education. After teaching school for many years in both Bourne and Wareham, he left to concentrate his efforts on wood carving and sign making. Influenced by many professionals in his field, Doug bases his art on longstanding New England tradition. Whimsical carvings, fish, birds, furniture and other hand-crafted art focusing on indigenous Cape Cod are just a few of the things that you may find offered by Doug Amidon. Enjoy!
